No more chicken — New Commercials Are Finally Here!!

Hope you said your final goodbye to the caroling chicken… because the new Morris-Jenkins commercials have rolled out!

We’ve been so excited about these commercials because they are completely different than anything we’ve ever done!

First, Dewey Jenkins, our president, is now our spokesperson. If you thought our president would be named Morris Jenkins, read about our company history here!

Second, for the first time, we used our OWN employees and shot the commercial in our OWN warehouse! Look closely in the commercials and see if you see your service tech… you didn’t know the guy fixing your a/c was a STAR, did you?!

When it comes to having service done in your home, you don’t want just anyone. A lot of times, you’d like to hear from someone else who has used a company in their home before you invite them into yours.

At Morris-Jenkins, we’re serious when we say that we won’t send anyone to your home that we wouldn’t want in ours. And to make sure our technicians are the best, as a part of every visit to a customer’s home, we ask the customer to evaluate our service with a questionnaire, called a “Happiness Check.”

This feedback is important to us, and we actually use it to pinpoint ways we can improve. For example, we expanded our service hours directly in response to requests from customers. Spring Cleaning That Keeps You Healthy and Saves You Money!

Dirty air conditioner equipment can not only cause future breakdowns and cost you money, it can make you sick!

For example, the air filter in an air conditioning system cleans the air that the system blows into your home. When the filter becomes clogged or dirty, it is actually blowing dirty air into your house.

It’s easier to recognize when your filter is dirty, but what you may not realize is that a dirty filter can also cause the internal parts of the system to become dirty and clogged, leading to mold and allergens.

It’s a good idea to change your filter this time of year, and be careful when selecting your filter. We do not recommend washable filters or really high efficient filters – though they clean the air, they also starve the air conditioner of needed air and can shorten the life of your system.

Flowers blooming is a sign of SUMMER!

. . .and a sign that it’s time to start getting your air conditioner ready.

Wanna make sure YOUR air conditioner doesn’t wake up GRUMPY?!

  • Go outside and check to make sure your air conditioning unit is not covered with leaves and debris from the winter — when your venting is blocked, your air conditioner can’t breathe and that can choke out your efficiency (AKA higher utility bills!)
  • Change your indoor filters, and be careful about low quality ones. Remember, you get what you pay for
  • Check your smoke detectors [it's always a good idea to check your smoke detectors]
  • If your thermostat is battery-operated, check your batteries

Now is also the best time to have your system professionally checked – before the heat wave hits and before you have any problems with your system.

Heating Tips for the Last Couple Weeks of Winter

After a long, warm weather tease, days like today remind us that we’re not quite through with winter!

To help you (and your wallet) make it to spring, we’ve pulled together a few basic Heating Tips for you…

  • Use kitchen, bath and other ventilating fans wisely… in just one hour, these fans can pull out a houseful of warmed air! Turn off fans as soon as they’ve done the job
  • Keep draperies and shades open on south-facing windows to allow sunlight to enter your home. Close them at night to reduce the chill you may feel from cold windows.
  • Set your thermostat as low as it is comfortable
  • Clean or replace filters on furnaces about once a month
  • Clean warm-air registers, baseboard heaters and radiators as needed; make sure they’re not blocked by furniture, carpeting or drapes

Your Furnace is Not Something to Mess Around With! PLEASE Read!

A lot of times we don’t think about our heating system until we don’t have heat. But it’s so important to have your furnace serviced even when it’s not broken.

You can understand why in this letter we got back from a customer recently…

“Brad did an exceptional job. He came out for a maintenance check and ended up being there for hours because he had detected carbon monoxide in our home. He called for back-up and did not give up until he found and remedied the problem. We feel like we owe our lives to him; because if he had not taken his job seriously, he may not have found the carbon monoxide leak and it would have eventually put us to sleep.
